Wells Cathedral Stonemasons
Wells Cathedral Stonemasons was formed in 1984 following the restoration and conservation of the west front of Wells Cathedral. The company provided a means of maintaining this large body of skilled craftsmen and has developed to provide a wide range of stonemasonry goods and services to the construction, restoration and conservation industries.

Whatever your interest in the use of natural stone, be it the restoration and conservation of stonework on historic buildings, the installation of new masonry or even the supply of a fireplace, we are always available to discuss any of your projects and offer help and advice on all aspects of the use of natural stone.

We look forward to offering you the very best in craftsmanship and the highest quality of service.

The company works closely with architects, contractors and conservators on restoration, conservation, and new build, and believes the sensitive nature of much of the work demands an integrated approach. To this end the company provides clients with a comprehensive design and consultancy service which ensures that the contract proceeds smoothly and efficiently from initial survey through to installation.

The company has become one of the country's leading specialists in stonework for restoration and new-build projects throughout the UK and overseas. Today, the company is a leader among the very few who are preserving the ancient skills of traditional stonemasonry, and providing full apprenticeship training.

The company is based in an historic example of 18th century stone architecture - Cheddar's disused railway station, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
